The Debug Monitor DMON is a software tool which runs on a host PC (Windows or Linux) and allows an engineer to interact with a System on a Chip via a communications link and specialised debug hardware on the SoC. It provides a view of the devices on the SoC and allows writing to and reading from memory addresses associated with those devices, and provides some high level sequences of reads and writes to perform functions on the devices. DMON also provides several features to allow test automation through scripting and for improved visualisation of the target.
